He holds a degree in Production Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of São Paulo (1990), a Master's degree in Engineering (Production Engineering) from the University of São Paulo (1993), and a PhD in Engineering (Production Engineering) from the University of São Paulo (1999). He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of São Carlos, in the Department of Production Engineering. He is a member of the editorial board of several Brazilian journals, with emphasis on Gestão Produção and Production. He is currently a co-editor of Gestão Produção. He serves as a reviewer for numerous national and international journals, as well as for national and international conferences. His main research interest is Performance Measurement Systems. The focus is on Performance Measurement Systems for Sustainable Supply Chain Management and Circular Economy, Performance Measurement Systems for Sustainability, the Use of Big Data Analytics in Performance Measurement Systems, Digitalization of Performance Measurement Systems (especially in Industry 4.0 and Agriculture 4.0), and Performance Measurement Systems for Innovation Ecosystems.
