Prof. Dr. Diogo Aparecido Lopes Silva

He is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) – Sorocaba/SP campus in the undergraduate course in Production Engineering. He is a supervisor for Master's and PhD students in the Graduate Programs in Production Engineering (PPGEPS) and in Planning and Use of Renewable Resources (PPGPUR) at UFSCar. His research focuses on the fields of Engineering and Management of Product Life Cycle (Life Cycle Assessment - LCA, Sustainable Manufacturing, Eco-innovation, and Ecodesign), Lean and Green Production (Cleaner Production, Planning and Control of Sustainable Production), and Circular Bioeconomy (bioproducts, bioprocesses, and bioenergy). He is currently the leader of the CNPq Research Group in Sustainability Engineering (EngS Group), a member of the Research Network on Life Cycle Impact Assessment (RAICV), a member of the Brazilian Corporate Network of LCA (RedeACV), a reviewer and Technical Committee member at the EPD International System, a member of the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP), and an individual member of the UN Environment Life Cycle Initiative. He has received 18 awards, published 6 books, 13 book chapters, and more than 100 articles in scientific journals. Internationalization: He conducted postdoctoral research at Ohio State University (OSU), United States. He has participated in exchange programs and has partnerships with the University of Coimbra (Portugal), Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain), KU Leuven (Belgium), and universities in Ohio and Arizona (United States).
